I believe God has spoken to me on this topic for the past couple of weeks, so I am going to share what’s on my heart.
In the midst of all the craziness of the holidays, I feel like we forget the whole point of Christmas. I said this before, this year I am trying to focus very much on the true reason for the season.
We have been watching all source of Christmas movies, but how we get closer to Christmas we watch more of a Christian movies, like Christmas Veggie tales, Son of God,The Bible…etc.
Somehow focusing more on the Bible and surrounding ourselves with the true meaning of Christmas, Santa fades away a little and this little tiny baby in the manger starts to become our main focus.
My son started to pray for Jesus on the cross every night, and my daughter who is four years old “reads “her Bible every night before she goes to bed. I asked her last night what she was doing in her bedroom, and she just looked at me with a beautiful big smile on her face and said : “I am reading the Gospel. ”
Tears came to my eyes, looking in disbelief, overwhelmed with proud feelings…What a special moment!
If you think your children are too little to understand the message of Jesus Christ, I hate to say this, but you are deadly mistaken. The innocence of a child also means they can sense spiritually and emotionally. If we dismiss the truth and resist God’s promise, it will result in forgetting God presence. We can attend all the Bible studies, read all the books about the Bible and yet still feel unwanted, rejected, unloved, feeling like a failure.
We know the apostles witnessed many miracles that Jesus performed, but they did not internalize them. Therefore these expressions did not transformed their life at the time.
Read Mark 6:30-52, but most importantly look at Mark 6:50-52.
Mark 6:50-52New International Version (NIV)
“50 because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.51 Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed, 52 for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened.”
Their hearts was hardened because they did not make a true transformation. How sad … I don’t know about you, but I do not want to miss out on the truth! I will fight for it until my last breath on this Earth! Because without Jesus my life is waisted, therefore my children’s lives will be wasted.
I don’t want to be stuck in the prison of “what if’s” and “could haves”. I want to live now and drink from the unlimited source of knowledge of the truth.
So let’s saturate ourselves in 2018 in the word of God, so we can live! Let’s not only have access to the word of God, but let’s make a transformation by applying His word and set it into motion!
Lysa TerKeurst encourages us in the book called Uninvited to follow 3 steps:
1; Get your information:
Have I sought out God’s truth regarding my situation?
Have I apply this truth?
3; Set into motion our transformation, instead of conformation.
Do I now own this truth as a personal revelation from God to use it in a future situations?
I pray you too can make a transformation and live like you are loved fully and unconditionally!
Do not conform to the everyday lies, that Satan wants you to believe!
You are more than your failures and mistakes! You are more than enough!
