Routines allow us to create structure and predictability in our life. They allow us to feel safe. Without routines, there would be too much uncertainty in life and everyday functioning would slow down.
This is why writing down goals for the day is one of the most important things I have to do, especially during this season. When I don’t do it, I am spinning around in circles and it is utter chaos around me. (Call it OCD if you like… lol)
Sound familiar?
Most of us are working from home and homeschooling the kids and let’s honest it can be a challenge to keep things going smoothly. I know, because I lost my cool several times in the past weeks, AND so did everyone else in this house.
The kids are emotional. We are emotional. Everyone is affected by the current situation in this world.
When I read my devotional in the mornings, I gather my thoughts and set some goals for the day. It honestly doesn’t have to be a big list. It has to include everything, though; from personal things to work, school, mommy duties, relaxation, taking time for you…etc.
Throughout the day, I cross them out as I go along, and it helps me to see through the day clearly. It gives me a sense of accomplishment, too. I don’t feel like the day just passed by. It also gives me an opportunity to reflect on my time and helps me to see if I am taking enough time on the things that are the most important.
I am sharing this with you because I feel it could be helpful if you are struggling to keep it together, and around here we certainly have our days.
Now it’s your turn, tell me one thing you do daily that helps you to keep your head above the water during this time?

Please share; I would love to hear!
